america. he left el salvador less than an hour ago cutting his visit short by about 2 1/2 hours. this morning the president talked by phone with his national security team regarding the situationings in libya. in libya, coalition air strikes today reportedly forced moammar gadhafi's forces to withdraw thanks besieging the key rebel-held town of misrata in western libya. however, gadhafi's forces intensifieied share shelling positions near the city of ajdabiya. the rebels are struggling to maintain control of that city. western diplomats say an agreement is eamericaning from nato to take primary responsibility for enforcing the no-fly zone over libya from the united states. and nato warships also started patrolling off libya's coast to enforce a u.n. arms embargo. >>> and, of course, that is moammar gadhafi. he emerged last night for the first time since air strikes starred defiantly vowing victory over the coalition. meantime, president obama answered a question from savannah guthrie concerning whether gadhafi has to be removed and whether the mission is a failure if he stays. >
